Single Additive for Making Pigment Emulsion
Additive
5115 :
Manufacturing of quality Aqueous Paste is a complex process. Additive
5115 is a single and simple solution. It is a combination of proven
surfactants (Anionic & Non-ionic surfactants as active ingredients),
system stabilizers and product preservers. Its Low Foaming Tendency permits
higher Pigment Loading and makes manufacturing process easy as well as
hassle free.
Advantages :
- Aqueous Paste based on Additive 5115 forms homogeneous
mixer with Distempers, Emulsion Paints, and Textured Paints, also it is
ideally suitable for Textile Printing.
- Aqueous Paste based on Additive 5115 eliminates
streakiness.
Procedure:
- Premix Pigment/s and Additive 5115 in S.S. or Plastic
container. If required add some quantity of water. If possible run under
high-speed stirrer for 15 minutes. Charge the Mixture thus formed to
Dispersion Mill. Run it till Dispersion is achieved. (Although Additive
5115 is low foaming, addition of defoamer at regular interval is
recommended to destroy the foam, if any, and achieve dispersion without
hassle. Blend Defoamer with Water and this blend is required to be
incorporated. Excessive of Defoamer should be avoided. Dose level of
Defoamer should not exceed 0.2 to 0.4% in total) Discharge the contents
from Mill. Charge the balance water to Mill and run for 5 minutes.
Discharge the same to Aqua Paste container. Add thickener to achieve
desired consistency.

Special
Polymer:
Special Polymer is powerful Opacifying Agent for Aqueous Systems. It is
non-film forming aqueous emulsion polymer that reduces the raw material
costs of coatings by supporting the hiding provided by the Primary Pigment.
The polymer consists of hollow acrylic/styrene beads supplied in emulsion
form. Initially these beads are filled with water. When a paint containing
Special Polymer dries, the water diffuses replaced by air. These
encapsulated air voids imparts the hiding effect. Thereby formulator can
reduce the amount of titanium dioxide without sacrificing hiding power and
tint strength.
